The more you shoot the more you'll learn, don't just watch YouTube tutorials and not actually try and execute the techniques in your own work.
LIGHTING
When recording outdoors or in any location where you cannot control the lighting, it's crucial to expose for the background, particularly when dealing with overpowering light sources such as the sun. Then, use your own light sources to light your subject.
CAMERA SETTINGS
It's important to monitor your white balance, particularly when applying custom settings in various locations. Also, utilizing Auto White Balance shouldn't be a concern; cameras tend to be accurate 95% of the time regarding white balance, making it one less thing to worry about while shooting.
EDITING / POST PRODUCTION
Utilizing LUTs can greatly simplify your life and enhance the efficiency of your workflow. If you frequently shoot in similar locations and develop a custom grade that appeals to you, be sure to save it as a LUT or PowerGrade. This practice will simplify the process of replicating a previous look and maintaining consistent colours and lighting.
